The British Jewish community has a very strong attachment to the State of Israel. A 2010 survey by the Institute of Jewish Policy Research (JPR) showed that 95% of UK Jews have visited Israel and that 90% view Israel as the “ancestral homeland of the Jewish people”. Seventy eight percent of the Jewish community supports a two-state solution. As the voice of the Jewish community, the Board of Deputies articulates the concerns and positions of our community on Israel to parliamentarians, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, media and other faith groups. Our programme of engagement with embassies also encompasses ties between other countries and the State of Israel.
Our work encompasses four main areas:
- Peace
- Security
- Prosperity
- Equality
