Board of Deputies President welcomes Lib Dem decision to remove candidate for London Mayor following revelation of antisemitic comments

Board of Deputies President Marie van der Zyl has applauded the Liberal Democrat Party for suspending its proposed candidate for Mayor of London after news broke that she had made previously made antisemitic comments.

Marie said: “The antisemitic comments discovered to have been made by Ms Sidhu-Robb, one of the Liberal Democrats’ proposed candidates for the Mayor of London, were despicable. We were heartened, however, to see that within hours of the story breaking, the Party suspended her and made it clear she would not be on the ballot paper.”
