The Board of Deputies of British Jews has announced a public meeting in Parliament to discuss the far-right extremism, entitled ‘HATE ON THE MARCH: How should the Jewish community respond to the rise of the far right?’

On the panel to discuss the situation will be the David Lammy MP; Political Commentator Ayesha Hazarika; Dr Omar Khan from the Runnymede Trust; Elliot Cohen from the Community Security Trust; Jemma Levene from HOPE not Hate, plus a Conservative politician (to be announced).

Board of Deputies Vice President Amanda Bowman, who will chair the meeting, said: “There has been a recent upsurge in far-right terrorism in the UK, Germany, New Zealand, Norway, the USA and elsewhere. We are also seeing the worrying re-emergence of far-right political parties and rhetoric. Past history has told us that this cannot go unchallenged, and combatting this lethal hate is an urgent priority for the Jewish community.”
