The Board of Deputies is pleased to announce The BoDCast, a new series of online webinars for the Jewish community addressing current key issues in our community.

Our first webinar will take place on Tuesday 30 June at 7:30 – 8:45PM

George Floyd and Racism Against Black People: How should Jews respond?

Join the Board of Deputies for a conversation about anti-Black racism and the responsibility that the Jewish community has to respond to it.

With guest speakers:

  • Stephen Bush – Political Editor of the New Statesman and Chair of the Board of Deputies Commission on Racial Inclusivity in the Jewish Community
  • Loretta Hodari – a British Jew of Jamaican descent, attendee at an Orthodox synagogue in Manchester
  • Aaron Jenkins – Vice President for Policy and Advocacy at The Expectations Project, a faith-based organisation in Washington DC working to address inequality in education
  • Arike Oke – Managing Director of the Black Cultural Archives, the national heritage centre for the histories of African and Caribbean people in Britain

The evening will be introduced by Board of Deputies President Marie van der Zyl and chaired by Chief Executive Gillian Merron.

The webinar will be livestreamed on our Facebook page, YouTube channel and this webpage. You can see the Facebook event here. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions during the broadcast via the chat functions on Facebook and YouTube.
