Meeting with Liberal Democrat Chief Whip over David Ward
The Board's President Vivian Wineman and Chief Executive Jon Benjamin were joined by Richard Benson, CEO, The CST, Jeremy Newmark, CEO, The Jewish Leadership Council (JLC) Paul Phillips, Chairman, Holocaust Educational Trust, Karen Pollock, CEO, Holocaust Educational Trust, and the JLC Council of Members, in a meeting with senior figures from the Liberal Democrats today.
In a joint statement they said: "Earlier this morning we met with Liberal Democrat Chief Whip Alastair Carmichael MP and Liberal Democrat Party Chief Executive Tim Gordon, at their request. The Chief Whip has assured us that Mr Ward’s latest comments will be dealt with as a fresh issue. It was made clear that this will be pursued in the context of Mr Carmichael’s commitment that if "anything of this sort" ever happened again the consequences for Mr Ward "would escalate significantly" beyond the official censure already imposed.
“During the meeting we repeated our bewilderment that the original statements remain on Ward’s website and our view that his prior apology has no credibility.”

Anti Semitism seems to be the de-facto stance for left wing British politicians, cf George Galloway. I can only assume there are no matters requiring his attention in his constituency so he is trying to look important on the international scene. How embarrassing.....
I am continually NEVER surprised by comments from men such as Ward and Stephen Sizer. They seem to be a 'certain type' of person whom you occasionally hear booming their opinions loudly in restaurants. Frankly the Liberals have done themselves no favours within the current 'coalition' and I dare say Mr Ward is heading for restaurants back in his home town, come the next election. Children and ordinary people are what count, and to be honest....they never lower themselves to the levels messes Ward and Sizer seem to sink to.
